If you've perused the
preceding pages then you know countless hours, hundreds of books and
microfilms, much head scratching and brainstorming, and many, many
dollars have gone into the pursuit of the elusive John Paterson. More
is needed; more hours, more people, more ideas, and more $$. It's time.
Research efforts are being ramped up in anticipation of 2014. You can
help. Yes, you can. You can......
~ Share
research you have done, bits of information you have, ideas &
suggestions about research to be considered; this is like forensics-
who knows which small bit of evidence might be key?
~ Assist with
research. Do you live near a repository that just might have records
from the period (1750s- 1760s)? an Historical Society? a university? an
archives? the Library of Congress? Do you live near Ottawa?
Quebec city? Washington DC? anywhere in New England? New York? You
don't need to be an experienced researcher; guidance and direction on
just what to look at, & for what information, will gladly be
provided. Simply make it known you'd be willing to get involved, could
be called upon if & when there is a need in your area.
~ Consider
genealogical DNA testing if you are a male Patterson descendant.
~ Support
research others are doing with a donation to the Research Fund - no
amount is too little! or too much! These days research in
England (of military records there) runs 20 - 30 pounds an hour!
Every contribution will be appreciated. Paypal is quick and easy, or send cheques to
the snail mail address below.
~ Offer
feedback and encouragement, even constructive criticism - let your
thoughts be known.
&
Thanks for your consideration!
